A long time coming...
I've really been meaning to update. Really. I just never get around to it. So here is the sum up of our life in the last month (in no particular order):
- I am going to school for summer term and love it! I'm taking photo illustration and alternative photography. We are learning historic processes in Alt which is really fun and we spend a lot of time out in the sun waiting for our prints to expose. The first day we took a 20 minute nap while we all laid on a large piece of fabric (already coated with the proper chemicals) and made a giant photogram.
- Kevin and I both bought Chacos in anticipation of Hawaii in 3 weeks. They are awesome!
- We went to Salt Lake for our friend Seth's wedding. The tulips were gorgeous!

- My little brother had a birthday and we gave him stickers from all the bike places we buy things from :) and I made awesome strawberry shortcake (featured on my other blog...)

- I've been shooting lots for Jewel Kade which has been pretty fun and a great learning experience.

- We've been exercising! Kevin is gaining 2lbs a week (we are super excited about it -- it's something he hasn't experienced since birth) and I've become more toned and possibly lost weight (I haven't really checked). Thank you to Megan Whitney for introducing me to the 100 pushups program. We are very sad that we've only been able to go on one bike ride
- I've also been attempting to eat healthier... I think it's going pretty well.
- My dad's birthday is today (and Rio's and Linda Moore's)! Happy Birthday!

- As mentioned in a previous bullet point... it's been raining cats and dogs here lately. We get a few warm days and then it dumps rain and pretends to snow some days. I love the rain but I wish we could have had more of this in the winter when we needed snow for skiing.

This is the view from our back/kitchen door, by the way...

Those are waves in case you were wondering... the streets were covered in about half an inch of water.
So there you have a brief summary of our life. I promise I will be better (hopefully a post each week). I'm guessing Hawaii will bring lots of posts :). But nonetheless... I will post. Also... for more pictures and projects see my photo blog. There are more tulips, some food, stock birthday images, etc. Love!

Moab Jeep Safari
We went to Moab with my cousins this weekend for the Jeep Safari. I haven't closely gone through all my photos yet, but I wanted to post this one. I've been wanting to try something like this and Moab provided a great opportunity! Something that made me laugh is all the people in the Jeep were looking at me at some point. So, I should have more photos soon, but for now...

It's been awhile!
So... it's been a while. Yeah... life has been really busy with work and school Mostly school for me. Kevin's enjoyed having free time, although he's running out of things to do. He went to the Biophysical Society Annual Conference in San Francisco a few weeks ago to present a poster for the research he did last semester with BYU. It was the first time we've been apart during our 1.5 years of marriage.
Kevin's car pretty much died after being in the shop for two weeks in an attempt to repair it. So... Kevin got a new car! It is a VW Jetta. We weren't planning on adding to our VW collection but it was a really good deal for the price range we were looking for. I'll post some pictures soon.
I've been making a lot of food and taking lots of pictures. My latest project was to recreate a magazine article for Real Simple. Here are the pages I created: (for those of you that subscribe to Real Simple... or if you want to take a look at one... this article is their Weeknight Meals column in the Food section)

Good Things... Best things....
Today was a good day. I've been really busy with school lately (a photo shoot every day) but today I did a few things that are due in a class and aren't for a grade but they felt really good. It was one of those days I remember what the best things in life are:
- Relief Society Enrichment about the woman at the well -- We had an awesome speaker and beautiful musical numbers. Extremely uplifting.
-Visited a new neighbor who didn't make it to Enrichment and whom I've been meaning to visit for the last two weeks. We had a really good chat and I felt like she sincerely appreciated and enjoyed it (as did I)
-Gave Kevin a head massage for a while so his headache would go away.
So nothing big but it was nice to slow down and do some things that weren't necessarily on my top priority to do list but should have been.

Finished!
One Bachelor Degree down and one to go! Kevin finished his last final yesterday completing his undergraduate education. I still have three more semesters left. Due to the lack of pictures on the previous posts, I've lined up my final project for Color Photography... How to make a grilled cheese sandwich... (there's also a random picture of ice cream which was not included in the final)

Skiing!
Kevin, Connor and I went skiing for the first time this season (Kevin actually snowboarded). It was so much fun! Not the best snow in the world but excellent for the second day Sundance was open. We used the chains on Mr. Bugg for the first time and thank goodness we had them. The roads were pretty snowy. On the way home 3 cars in front of us slid off the road so we had to wait for about 15-20 min for them to get pulled out. We did just fine though.
We also signed the contract for our new apartment on Saturday. We move in January 1st and I can't wait! It will be a good move.
I finished two finals today, both went pretty well. Both classes also had final projects and in the first class I got 98/100! Hopefully that will save me for the questions I missed on the test. The other project went pretty well but I don't have a grade yet. Tomorrow is Kevin's first day of finals. Hopefully all goes well there. Only 3 more days and he'll be done with school!

Hmmm....
Yeah, the December daily hasn't really worked out. Needless to say the last week of school and finals is pretty busy. Work has been very busy as well. So, I guess that's the end of that. Four days is quite a bit to make up.

Day 6

Day 5
Today I began apartment hunting. We decided that it would be worth moving closer to Jewel Kade since Kevin will be working there full time in January. We didn't hear back from any of the places he applied for jobs so we'll be in Utah county for a little while longer. I've found a couple apartments that are pretty good and reasonably price. Its amazing how much better apartments are for the price in Alpine and AF than in Provo.
Also, it just so happened this week that I put in 45 hours of work without missing a single class! Crazy!

Day 4
I am so grateful this semester is almost over! Kevin and I have stayed up way to late the last few nights doing homework. But, once it's done we'll have a full two weeks of relaxation, skiing, and spending time with family!

Day 3
So today is the third day of the December Daily. Kevin and I drove to work together today! Normally we get out of class at different times so we can't but it worked out today. After work we got dinner at Taco Amigo and ate with Connor since he's home all alone while my parents are in NY. Now I should be doing homework... not so fun. No new pictures yet either... I'll work on it though.

"December Daily"
One of the artists who I admire does what's called December Daily. Essentially she takes a photo everyday of December and writes a little bit and puts it in a cute mini book. Well, I don't have time to do a cute book, maybe someday, but I thought I would give it a go. Since I didn't realize December started yesterday... today's post will double as two days.
December 1:
Today we stayed up super late so Kevin could finish his homework and I worked on photo charms... putting off my 6 page paper due next week. I have to say I don't envy Kevin's work load. Thank goodness it will be over in 2 weeks. I love being a photo major, just taking photos for homework.
December 2: I'm not sure what today will bring... hopefully I will have a picture later. Maybe of our incredible Christmas decoration. It took me a whole 30 seconds to put them up. Impressive, I know.

Birthday Wishes
So for my birthday someone attacked our front porch with bows and left some sparkling cider and a cap gun. Here is the lovely bow attack. (By the way... I posted some of my latest photography on my other blog)
