One Bachelor Degree down and one to go! Kevin finished his last final yesterday completing his undergraduate education. I still have three more semesters left. Due to the lack of pictures on the previous posts, I've lined up my final project for Color Photography... How to make a grilled cheese sandwich... (there's also a random picture of ice cream which was not included in the final)

Skiing!
Kevin, Connor and I went skiing for the first time this season (Kevin actually snowboarded). It was so much fun! Not the best snow in the world but excellent for the second day Sundance was open. We used the chains on Mr. Bugg for the first time and thank goodness we had them. The roads were pretty snowy. On the way home 3 cars in front of us slid off the road so we had to wait for about 15-20 min for them to get pulled out. We did just fine though.
We also signed the contract for our new apartment on Saturday. We move in January 1st and I can't wait! It will be a good move.
I finished two finals today, both went pretty well. Both classes also had final projects and in the first class I got 98/100! Hopefully that will save me for the questions I missed on the test. The other project went pretty well but I don't have a grade yet. Tomorrow is Kevin's first day of finals. Hopefully all goes well there. Only 3 more days and he'll be done with school!

Hmmm....
Yeah, the December daily hasn't really worked out. Needless to say the last week of school and finals is pretty busy. Work has been very busy as well. So, I guess that's the end of that. Four days is quite a bit to make up.

Day 6

Day 5
Today I began apartment hunting. We decided that it would be worth moving closer to Jewel Kade since Kevin will be working there full time in January. We didn't hear back from any of the places he applied for jobs so we'll be in Utah county for a little while longer. I've found a couple apartments that are pretty good and reasonably price. Its amazing how much better apartments are for the price in Alpine and AF than in Provo.
Also, it just so happened this week that I put in 45 hours of work without missing a single class! Crazy!

Day 4
I am so grateful this semester is almost over! Kevin and I have stayed up way to late the last few nights doing homework. But, once it's done we'll have a full two weeks of relaxation, skiing, and spending time with family!

Day 3
So today is the third day of the December Daily. Kevin and I drove to work together today! Normally we get out of class at different times so we can't but it worked out today. After work we got dinner at Taco Amigo and ate with Connor since he's home all alone while my parents are in NY. Now I should be doing homework... not so fun. No new pictures yet either... I'll work on it though.

"December Daily"
One of the artists who I admire does what's called December Daily. Essentially she takes a photo everyday of December and writes a little bit and puts it in a cute mini book. Well, I don't have time to do a cute book, maybe someday, but I thought I would give it a go. Since I didn't realize December started yesterday... today's post will double as two days.
December 1:
Today we stayed up super late so Kevin could finish his homework and I worked on photo charms... putting off my 6 page paper due next week. I have to say I don't envy Kevin's work load. Thank goodness it will be over in 2 weeks. I love being a photo major, just taking photos for homework.
December 2: I'm not sure what today will bring... hopefully I will have a picture later. Maybe of our incredible Christmas decoration. It took me a whole 30 seconds to put them up. Impressive, I know.

Birthday Wishes
So for my birthday someone attacked our front porch with bows and left some sparkling cider and a cap gun. Here is the lovely bow attack. (By the way... I posted some of my latest photography on my other blog)

It's official...
I've been accepted to the BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) program at UVU in photography! Wahoo! I guess the third time's the charm... or a new school...
More goodness to come soon. I promise.

Briefly... or not...
While Kevin is dilligently working on his homework, I am (naturally), slacking off and just enjoying wonderful websites and food images online. So, I thought I would make good use of my time and update the blog that hasn't been changed for almost a month (tragic!).
School:
Kevin has been really busy lately and has quite a full schedule (18 credits + work, which I can tell you from my experience last semester is rough). On top of everything else he has been applying to a few jobs at Biotech companies. We've had one rejection, sad, and haven't heard back from most of them. Hopefully something will work out. If not, he may be making jewelry for a few more years with me.
With graduation coming up people have been asking what the plan is. Right now we are hoping that he gets a job at one of these biotech companies, work for a year or two (until I graduate) and then go to graduate school for a MS or PhD in Cell Biology (or something along that line...). Where? We don't know but we're open to suggestions :).
This semester has not been quite as spectacular as I thought it was going to be, but it is wonderful nonetheless. The most exciting thing just started to emerge today actually. As you may know last week I photographed our dinner and was pretty pleased with the results. I quite enjoyed photographing food and I absolutely love looking at good food photography. After showing my images to one of my photo teachers she suggested contacting the Culinary Arts department at UVU to see if their students would be interested in having me photograph their creations so they have a beautiful portfolio as well.
Last night I sent an email to the Culinary Arts department asking if I would be able to photograph for at least some of the students. Well... they were thrilled! I got an email from someone in the department and she told me they have a bunch of competitions in the next few weeks (and some this upcoming week) and they would absolutely love for me to come photograph. Yay! She said she would send me an email with more info on when, where, etc. So.. after work I checked my email and this is what it said:
We would LOVE to help you out!
Is there a time that we could meet and discuss this a bit more?
I have dreamed that someday a "foodie" with a camera would call!
I don't know that I'm a "foodie" but I do have a camera and an interest in food so... If you can't tell I'm quite excited! So I think there are some good opportunities coming my way.
Well, that really wasn't exactly brief, but now you all know something about what is going on in our lives. Things are going really well but we haven't done anything super exciting lately so thus the lack of updates. I'll try to be better about that.
Here is an image, so this isn't all text. I shot it for my color class. The assignment was to use Shutter Drag or Slow Sync. You can google it for better images. It wasn't the most successful assigment (as a matter of fact the class did so poorly that she said she is going to cut the assignment next semester) but its not terrible.

A Job Change
I don't know if I ever posted this on the blog, but I am no longer working for America First Credit Union. I am now officially working for Jewel Kade as a photo charm specialist and in the jewelry making department. It's been a really good change and a great job fit for me. I love what I do!

Weekend in Park City
Over Labor Day weekend several of the Tuttles gathered in Park City for a little vacation. Saturday the girls went to Teresa's baby shower and the boys played at the condo. Later that night we rode the lift at the Canyons and went to Swiss Dasy. On Sunday we went to Temple Square. We walked around the grounds and went to a beautiful organ recital in the Tabernacle. Here are some of the photos from Temple Square:
The following 4 photos were taken by Nancy, and she did a wonderful job! (Kevin and I could never look normal at the same time...)
I love this shot of Anna taking pictures. She took quite a few photos and ended up with some great shots of the kids.
I love that you can see my reflection in Isaac's eyes here...
Sunday naps...
I posted some photos of the grounds and such on my photo blog.

Mr. Blue -- Seeing in Color
Just an FYI... I'm going to start posting my photography assignments and discoveries on my Photographer Extraordinaire blog after today. So... look for more new photos there! For my Color Photography class our assignment was to shoot something in a warm or cool color scheme. There is a cute blue bug between our apartment and BYU campus. So, that's what I decided to photograph. I love how vivid the blue turned out without any help from Photoshop!
By the way... I'm loving being able to post these images larger than before... I think the color turns out better too (more like what I see when I edit them).

St. George and more
Last weekend Kevin and I celebrated our anniversary a month early by taking a trip to St. George and stayed in my grandparents condo. We played at a park, went swimming at the pool with Shannon (she and Kevin's mom came up on Saturday afternoon), did some shopping, went to the farmers market at the Tuachan and ate some very delicious dinners.
Last Monday we went on a bike ride with some of my family up Provo Canyon. We ate dinner and played in the park.
On Saturday my bike came in the mail. I was at work, but Kevin spent all day getting it ready for me when I got home. He's wonderful. I rode it around the parking lot, but today will be my first real bike ride on it. Thanks to Michael for selling it to us!
The weather was so nice yesterday that we decided to go feed some old bread to the ducks at the duck pond by our apartment. Kevin didn't want to feed them but told me he would watch me feed them. As it turns out, he enjoyed it much more than he thought. Although we learned that if you want the ducks to fight over a whole piece of bread you have to make sure there aren't any large white ducks that just take over.
